4. DO WE USE COOKIES AND OTHER
TRACKING
TECHNOLOGIES?
In Short: We use a small number of first-party cookies to keep you signed in, protect your account and remember your time zone. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share your personal information for targeted advertising.
Strictly necessary cookies. Scorbot sets a session cookie that keeps you signed in (30 days), a token that protects sign-in and account forms against cross-site request forgery, a cookie that returns you to the page you came from after signing in, and a cookie that remembers a browser you have already verified with a one-time code so we can skip the code next time (180 days). A short-lived cookie also ties a Shopify store connection to the browser that started it, and a cookie stores your cookie preferences once you save them (1 year). These cookies cannot be switched off without breaking sign-in.
Functional cookies. A cookie records your browser’s time zone (1 year) so schedules and reports are shown in your local time. When you watch a live schedule or live rankings without being signed in, a random viewer identifier (30 days) lets the live connection resume and limits abuse; it is not linked to your identity.
Affiliate attribution. If you arrive through a Scorbot affiliate link, one cookie records the referring partner’s code for 30 days so the partner can be credited if you later become a customer. It is not shared with advertisers and is not used to show you advertising.
Analytics and error monitoring are cookieless. We count visits to public pages by combining your IP address with a random value that changes daily and keeping only the resulting hash; the IP address is never stored and visitors cannot be recognised across days. Our hosting provider, Vercel, measures page views and page speed the same way, without cookies. When an error occurs we send a report to Sentry together with a short recording of the affected tab in which all text is masked and all media is blocked.
Content from other companies. Maps (Google Maps, Mapbox), home-page videos (YouTube), the DUPR rating sign-in, the rich-text editor (TinyMCE) and payment pages (Stripe, PayPal) are loaded from, or completed on, those companies’ own services. They receive your IP address and may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies.
Browser storage. The Services also keep a few items in your browser’s local storage and session storage, such as a random 30-minute session id for page analytics (session storage, cleared when you close the tab), the phone number you just verified while onboarding (local storage; removed when the next onboarding step reads it, or, if you leave onboarding before that step, kept in your browser until you finish signing in or clear site data), and your Scorbot Assistant preferences. None of it is sent to third parties.
Because we do not use cookies or similar technologies for targeted advertising, we do not “sell” or “share” personal information through them as those terms are defined under applicable US state privacy laws, and Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals have nothing to opt you out of.
You can switch affiliate attribution and third-party content off or on at any time from “Cookie preferences” in the footer of every page or on the Cookie Policy page; a browser that sends the Global Privacy Control signal starts with affiliate attribution off. 5. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR
INFORMATION?
In Short: We
keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in
this Privacy Notice unless otherwise required by
law.
We will only keep your personal
information
for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy
Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law
(such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements). No purpose in this notice will require
us
keeping your personal information for longer than
the period of time in which users
have
an account with us

When we have no ongoing legitimate
business
need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if
this
is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been
stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal
information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is
possible.

guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be

to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify
your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal
information, transmission of personal information to and from our
Services
is at your own risk. You should only access the Services within a secure
environment.
7. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM

9. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK
FEATURES
Most web browsers and some mobile
operating
systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can
activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your
online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no
uniform technology standard for
recognizing and
implementing
DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not
currently
respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically
communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for
online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will
inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy
Notice.
California law requires us to let you know
how
we respond to web browser DNT signals. Because there currently is not an
industry or legal standard for
recognizing or honoring DNT signals, we do not respond
to them at this time.
